Ready or not!

The boys got to go meet their pre-school teachers on Tuesday at the school open house.
Yesterday was their first day of school...thanks for the outfits Nana :)

This is just before the point where I had a total meltdown! Not really, but after we dropped them off we had to talk about something unrelated to them going to pre-school so we could hold ourselves together. Drew and Max were so excited to go and had no problem with us leaving so that helps with the heartache :)
They had a great first day! Neither of them could tell us what they learned but they both had big smiles on their faces when we picked them up...success!

Family Night

Max was in charge of family night, so Charakie planned a play: "Daniel in the Lion's Den."
Max was the lion
Drew....
Cambrie was the angel who stopped the lion's mouths
Evil dad was king Darius. No Praying!

Back to School

Cambrie got up bright and early for her first day back at school.
She was quick to tell us that we didn't have to stay; that we could "go home now."

George Gordon-Smith M.A.

George and the kids before he walked
All of the Gines family came to George's graduation and threw a party for him later that evening. It is always fun to get together with them.

My Surrender to the Blogging World...

My friends have been trying to get me to blog for a long time now. I was completely against it and swore I'd never do it...who has the time? I then realized that maybe it would be easier for our relatives that aren't close to us to keep in touch by viewing a blog. So, thanks to a few of my friends who are pro bloggers... I have been converted. When I asked my friend Kenon what has become of me she simply answered... "you're living again." I thought about this and how right she is. After Joel died I had to simplify and I couldn't do all of the things that I normally did. Now that I am married again and I have taken on the roll of mother instead of mother AND father I can do things like this. It's good to be living again! :)

Petting Zoo

Max milking a cow...there's a first time for everything!

Drew and Max were terrified of the scarecrow...it took 20 min. for me to talk Drew into getting this close.

Hopefully this is the last time they'll be behind bars! :)

"In Our Lovely Deseret"

George and I always laugh when we sing the hymn "In Our Lovely Deseret" at church. It's a beautiful hymn but we fee like things just don't go that way at our house. This is a picture of Drew last Monday after family night. He was in charge of the lesson and as he was preparing a game for Brie and Max he tripped up the stairs and cut his lip. He then proceeds to tell the rest of the family that he is teaching about aliens instead of the real subject which was pioneers. Sometimes our "deseret" isn't so lovely but it's ours and it's very entertaining!
