We didn't get in to UNC...they denied us admittance TWO years in a row.

What I really want to do is swear, and hit something really hard!

I thought for sure we would end up in NC. Can't you see me living in NC?

PhD Update

George also got in to Texas A&M and UC Santa Cruz!

We have four choices so far and seven more to hear from...not sure that more is better in this case. It's a big decision and I think it's going to be harder than we thought to decide where to take our family for the next five years.

However, Emory is still the best offer.

UNC...still waiting to hear :) Is no news good news?

There seems to be a problem with my computer and I can't upload photos which is why I haven't posted for so long. However, there's a lot of updating to be done as far as PhD programs are concerned.

George applied to TWELVE programs all across the U.S. this year. Literally, from coast to coast. His top three picks were Chicago, North Carolina, or Georgia. He flew to Atlanta a couple weeks ago to interview and they LOVED him. We got in and they offered us a great funding package.

We also got in to Missouri but will probably pass this offer up as Emory (Georgia) is a much better program. We are still waiting to hear from UNC as this is the only school we would choose over Emory...the waiting game is torture!

So, it looks like the Gordon-Smiths will be moving to Georgia or North Carolina. My vote is UNC so I'm crossing my fingers and putting in a few extra prayers on an hourly basis right now :)

Anyone have any contact information in these two areas? Atlanta or Chapel Hill?
