Utah-Part 2

Katie and I at lunch. We go way back...she was one of my best friends in elementary school. One of those friends who you can go years without talking to but can pick up right where you left off when you see each other. Such a rock, I love her.

The boys did a lot of digging this week. My dad bought them leather work gloves just like his and they dug and dug for two days straight.

Horse rides.

My birthday was on Friday, so Julie and I went out on the town. We got pedicures, had dinner at a restaurant in Salt Lake called Porcupine...AMAZING! We ate until we were sick, and then went to Smart Cookie and each of us had an ice cream cookie sandwich. We then went to the movie to see Soul Surfer, and rolled our way to our seats. We were so sick, and should have stopped after dinner but just couldn't resist dessert.

Julie has been in my life through many ups and downs and has been consistent through it all. I adore her and am so grateful for her friendship. She is someone I always look to for an example, she has her priorities straight, does things for the right reason, and would do anything for anyone.

Thanks for the birthday outing Jules :)

My sweet hubby sent me this delicious bouquet for my birthday. We consumed it in about an hour, it was delightful.

Mitchell LOVES the big machinery on the farm.

This week we've been watching three different robin's nests in the orchard. It's so amazing to see how quickly this process is...

Hungry robin. My kids don't realize how lucky they are to have these experiences, life on the farm is so unique and very rare. I hope they remember their carefree summers.

Dustin and Julianne blessed their second daughter, Kate, on Sunday. She's so sweet, we can't get enough of her.

This is heaven. My dad sent up the camper so the kids can stay out there for the next month. We had all the cousins over here on Sunday night for a sleep over, it's fun to watch them do things I used to do as a child (not to mention the fact that the house is QUIET and actually stays clean for more than five minutes).

Cambrie and Tanzynn.

Breakfast in the camper...

How many grandchildren can you fit on a four wheeler? This is a common occurrence for my dad, I have no idea how he gets any work done.

My sister and I took the kids to a pond in Highland yesterday to swim. The water was FREEZING and the wind was blowing so we didn't stay long. However, Mitchell managed to fall in while we were there. Surprised? No.

Mitchell and the aftermath of a cupcake.

Last night we went to Salt Lake to see some good friends. Joel and I were in the same ward as the Schenk family from 2001 - 2005. Joel served in the Young Mens program, so had a lot of interaction with Pete, Ryan, and Mike/Dragon (who isn't technically a Schenk, but might as well be). I was in Young Womens with the girls, and they also babysat Cambrie for us.

We had such a good visit with them and also got to see President and Sister Nash. I will forever value my relationship with this family (Mike/Dragon included), we have very dear memories with them. Joel loved these boys so much and loved being a part of their lives.

It's great to be back here with family and friends. I got to go to the temple with my dad this morning, it's so nice to have the temple so close.

George comes in one week, we can't wait to see him.
