Merry Christmas! We had a quiet day and it didn't really seem like Christmas. We're trying to get used to new traditions being so far away from family. My parents came in to town last night so the party is just now beginning. We were so excited to take them to church today so they could meet all of our friends and so we could show them off. But...
church got cancelled because of ALL this snow! LOL! You can still see the grass :) I even had two of my primary kids (I just got called to be the Primary President a couple weeks ago) who were supposed to be baptized today and that got postponed too. So strange. In Utah, this isn't even considered snow is it? Georgia has officially shut down...so awesome.
You are living my life one year later. It is so crazy. Every post you write...I wrote the same thing in the last two years. I hope you are having fun with your parents!!!!! :)
i am laughing so hard right now!!! snow what??? that is NOTHING. with that being said, i did give a fib today because we were soooo lazy. at our house, church did get cancelled. LOL. hehehe soooorry....
That is so funny. I came from WA where they shut down for dustings of snow as well. When I moved to Utah and there was a good amount of snow, I asked a neighbor how you know if the schools are closed. She looked at me funny and said, "I don't think they do that here."
Oh that is SO funny! Brad would always be telling my how they'd shut down the whole town in North Carolina too for the snow. He claimed it was because the didn't have any plows or anything for the streets...but you wouldn't even need a plow for that stuff!!!
And that's so cool about your new calling! I bet you'll be nice and busy:)
I wish Utah had snow days like this. We have 4-7 foot tall snow banks in Sanpete County we have had 3 power outages since Christmas lasting full days due to snow. Maybe I should move to Georgia....
Everyone has a story: life experiences that have either strengthened us or made us weaker and have defined who we really are. Our story is no different; George and I were both married previously to very wonderful people who changed our lives and helped us become who we are. We each suffered a tremendous loss when our spouses (Joel and Summer) died of cancer leaving us with an unfinished story of the lives we had imagined. Through the grief, loneliness, suffering, and pain we both realized that our stories were being revised and that Summer and Joel were helping in that process.
George and I met in March of 2007. We dated for a year and it was a wonderful year full of compassion, empathy, healing, and love. My dad often talks about the tender mercies of the Lord and we both know that our lives have been touched by these tender mercies in ways we never dreamed possible.
We were married on March 1, 2008 in the Salt Lake Temple. The new revisions in our story may seem complicated but to us it's rather simple. Our kids know how much we love each other and are so happy to be a complete famiy again. They also know that "daddy Joel" and "mommy Summer" are a big part of our lives and that families are eternal and we will see them again someday. George and I often joke that "we are blessed....we think!," but the truth is we have been blessed beyond measure. We've had our trials and there are still sad days but we have each other to lean on. We now havesomeone to share things with--it feels so good to love again!
